Making the ESA As Effective As Possible
|
Conclusions:
- Maximize the radiation resistance by making the antenna length as long as practical.
- Use the largest diameter wire or tube radiating element that you can.
- Make the antenna radiating element as straight as possible.
- Make the current uniform over as much length as possible with coils and capacitive hats.
- Make as good a ground system as is practical for your location.
- Try to bring all resistive losses down to almost zero.
All of the above require that you make difficult choices and compromises.
You still won't be able to have it all at the same time: Small Size, High Efficiency and Wide Bandwidth.
That's The Dilemma of the Small Antenna!
